Died as a result of mustard gas poisoning 2 August 1917, 35 years. Buried Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. (Both Memorials)

Died of wounds 27 September 1916, 38 years. Buried Waloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France. (South Moor Park Memorial). Also named on the Altar Memorial at St Josephs Roman Catholic Church, Stanley.

Died of wounds 22 September 1918, 35 years. Buried Sarigol Military Cemetery, Kriston, Greece. (Both Memorials). CWGC records show 24 Maple Street; 1911c show South Moor.
- 24 Maple Street - Jonathan Tinnion: Born 1883 Allendale Cottages, Medomsley, Consett. Son of John & Elizabeth Tinnion of Burnhope Colliery. Husband of Elizabeth Tinnion of 24 Maple Street.Enlisted 24 December 1914. Private 18263 2nd Btn Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. Transferred to 153rd Prisoner of War Company, Labour Corps as Private 607862. Died 19 August 1918 by accidental decapitation. Jonathan was killed by a Railway Engine at Care Maritime, France whilst going home on leave. Some service records found including reports and statements made regarding his death. (Both Memorials). CWGC have death at 37 years but born 1883. CWGC records show 24 Maple Street; 1911c show Jobsons Buildings, South Moor this is also his address at enlistment.

re-joined Nelson Bn 14 July 1917 – 17 Oct 1917 declared deadThe Nelson Bn War Diary 17th Oct 1917 states:
“Work continued. [B C & D Coys working under Res.]. Casualties – 2 other ranks killed, 4 other ranks wounded, 2 other ranks wounded to duty.”Disinterred and re-burial at the above Cemetery.
CWGC Headstone reads “Remembered by his sorrowing Mother”1911 census shows Edmund working as an Endless rope man in the Coal Mine and living at the above address with his widowed mother and brother.

Previously 18973, Durham Light Infantry Transferred Army Cyclist Corps 15th January 1915 Entered Theatre of War, France 26th August 1915. Total service 3 years, 242 days. Killed in action 30th April 1918, age 22 years. Awarded the 15 Star, British War Medal & Victory Medal
